Can I just say how much I LOVE bread? So when I tell you that my mom made Chocolate Chip Banana Bread the other day, you can only imagine how absolutely stoked I was. But when I went to get the bread out of the fridge, I swear, it was like she didn't want God to get into the bread. It was wrapped in two layers of foil and enclosed in an layer of wax paper. I actually couldn't figure out how to get into it. A loaf of child-proof bread if I ever saw it.
Great story, right?
YEAHHH.
So another snow day, cept there is no snow. Ice? Maybe. And I'm sitting here watching Ellen. Of course.
But I've realized that she plays the greatest music in the world on that show and that would be the greatest thing about that job is getting to dance to that music all the time. Legit--I would want to get hired just so I could dance to "Good Vibrations" by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. WOW. Best band name in the world. So creative and....rhyme-y. Kudos to Marky Mark.
There are two things I love about the Ellen show:
1. The fact that she brings people like Amy Poehler on there.
2. The fact that Ellen does prank videos like this. HILARIOUS. I just love awkward people.
I really do love awkward people. I mean, what's life without a little awkward spice to it? Especially if you're awkward to people you're never gonna see again. For example, the other day my small group leaders Amy and Megan went to Subway with Kendra and me before small group. Megan being Megan decided to make the Subway worker feel 100% awkward. Maybe it was cause he was doing a good job. Lord only knows. This is how it went down [WARNING: not word for word but still awkward enough]:
Megan: What's your name?
Worker: Jacob
Megan: Jacob! Well, hey Jacob. Jacob and I are best buddies, aren't we Jacob.
Jacob [red in the face]: Yes.
Megan: I just love you Jacob. Jacob can you change my bread order? YES! You're the best. I just love you. That's why we're besties. Jacob do you think it's hot in here? Cause I feel the temperature rising.
I literally could not contain myself so I just sat down and hid in a corner and laughed silently to myself because I was so embarrassed. But in the long run, it's fun making people feel awkward. So I hope you make someone feel awkward today. If not for your sake, then for mine so that you can tell me about it and I can laugh. Although, I've googled it and I believe National Make Someone Feel Uncomfortable Day is November 19th. If it isn't, then it is now. That's going on the calendar.
Which by the way, if you've never tried yelling 'GOOGLE!' when you google something, it's quite a thrill. You'll feel hilarious, awkward, stupid, and proud all at the same time. Try it. In the office or at home or where there are plenty of people around so all they hear is you shouting from one room to the next "GOOOOOOGLE!"
Jesus Transition:
Jesus answers my prayers. And for that I am SO thankful. Something happened in the past day that really freaked me out and I prayed and prayed and prayed about it and I just got a call basically saying that Jesus answered my prayer. Thank you SO much, Father. So if you all wouldn't mind just keeping my family in your prayers that would be fantastic.
PS if this blog today reads weirdly or is just terribly transitioned or WHATEVER. I'm sorry. I feel out of it for blogging. Like I'm just writing and I don't care if it sounds weird. Like this past paragraph was just awkward and not understandable. WHAT. WOW I'm SO out of it.
Song of the Day: Eet - Regina Spektor
LOVE this song. So beautifully different. I could listen to Regina Spektor all day everyday. She's just so unique and not like anybody I've heard. Her album 'Far' is by far [no pun intended...except that wasn't really a pun at all...] one of the best albums I know of. On my top ten, definitely.
